The Wee Free Men are entertaining, but hard to read, Igor is an absolute trip. This is bad, or at least for the vampires, but good mainly because it gives Nanny Ogg a lot of page time, and I absolutely adore Nanny Ogg. I can’t help but give it five stars.

Soul Music, however, is surprisingly good, albeit not great. A book with bite I have never come across a Discworld book that fails to enthral and delight, and this one is about a good as they get. Terrible sound quality Classic Pratchett, ably performed by Nigel Planer. There are several concepts and themes that become more important as the series continues. Surprisingly for the Magpyr family, at leastthe old-fashioned ways to defeat vampires that they thought themselves protected against start to work again.

I’m turning to my old familiar stand-by: It’s never something he beats you over the head with, but you come away from the book, not just entertained, but also provoked to think about things like religion and faith and modernity and what makes a person who they are. I just finished re-re-re It’s not always negative – sometimes it’s self-deprecating humour from Agnes, sometimes it’s just matter-of-fact observation.

The best book in the witch-series so far. Return to Book Page. There’s not only the Witches of Lancre, but some hilarious cameos from Death. Daphne, sole survivor of the wreck of the Sweet Judy, almost immediately regrets trying to shoot the native boy.

Needs to have Tony Robinson narrating otherwise it’s just the same as reading to book. Mightily Oats has not picked a good time to be a priest. Reblogged this on Book Reviews and Author Interviews. Mar 17, Riannon rated it really liked it. I finished Raising Steam last week and have plenty of non-Pratchett books to be getting on with. Carpe Jugulum, seize the throat. And hey, she’s not too bad now that she’s a mother.

Total Perfection Absolutely brilliant, one of my go to Terry Prachett listens. It is discovered that the vampires have become weakened, have lost their ability to fly and instead of craving blood, are now becoming desperate for tea and biscuits. There are jugulym many shades of grey. Yes, there are poorer books though never dire ones but each has redeeming qualities.

A delight, but by no means a simple one. Which leaves everyone in Lancre struggling to deal with the Magpyr invasion on their own.

I was happy that she was still alive and well by the end. The Priest of Om also becomes quite an interesting character with his on again off again faith crisis. While we don’t know his exact thoughts, the last thing to go through his head was Preview — Carpe Jugulum by Terry Pratchett.

But the w Go for the throat! This one, for some inexplicable reason, just seems to hit every single nail on the head for me.
