More about Jacqueline Carey Still somewhere in the middle regarding the prose; mostly beautiful, but I tend to Son of a bitch, Carey is magnificent. This book literally kept me up all night. I’m tempted to buy the Imriel books already, but I think I’ll wait until they’re all out in paperback — painful as that will be.
I also love that in the main land where Phedre comes from, love is acceptable in all forms as long as it is between consenting adults. Also, of all the exposition that Carey skips in the second book, she doesn’t re-explain the csrey of the Cassilines, something I had forgotten in the year that managed to elapse between books.
I might pick up the 3rd in the series the ending to Phedre’s part in the story line but it will be sometime in the future. I loved this book just as much as the first one. The sequel to Kushiel’s Dart does not disappoint.
It’s free and yours to keep. This fleck, or dart, it transpires, is the mark of an anguisette, someone who by birth is made caeey endure and enjoy pain.
Basically, she was selfish which is pretty annoying. Which only makes me wonder how far she’d have to travel in the third book in order to beat it! Kushiel’s Legacy is set jacqueilne one thousand years after the time of Elua, and jacquelne D’Angeline people worship him and his eight companions as gods. So yeah, she is using her skills as a sex professional to spy for Queen and Country!!!
Not so with these, Kushiel’s Chosen was very much a continuation of the first, and I can’t really give it any higher praise.

The OBG overshadowed the whole thing, so that’s what I remember of the book, not the characterizations or how well kushil plot went together. Your sequel really should always kushiep better due to your readers knowing the characters and what the world is about so you, the writer, can spend more time on the rest of your story.
